Senior Clinical Lecturer, Cardiff University and Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at University Hospital of Wales
Rachel Hargest was born and brought up in Cardiff but moved to London as a student. She qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, and trained in London, Johannesburg and Toronto and returned to Wales as a consultant surgeon. Her interests include colorectal cancer genetics, polyposis syndromes and intestinal failure. As well as working as a GMC appeals assessor she is also a trustee of the British Association of Surgical Oncology and the Royal Society of Medicine.
